Rival started with a small annoyance. Most lighting was either cheap and forgettable or lovely and priced like it belonged in a gallery, with almost nothing sensible in between. So we went looking for the in-between, and when we couldn't really find it, we built it.

We're a UK lighting label for people who care how a room turns out. Every piece has to earn its spot — the proportions, the material, the light it actually throws. When that's right, a room stops feeling like a work in progress.

We're a small team in London: a couple of people with an eye for design, someone who spends their days hunting down the right pieces, and the person who'll email you back when something's gone sideways.

We're picky on purpose. Hundreds of designs get looked at and most get cut. We check the finish before anything goes live, and we pack orders like they're going to a friend. We're new at this, and we'd rather earn your trust than claim it, so every light comes with a three-year warranty.
